We're Here for You

When you need help coping with the burdens of life such as the loss of a loved one, navigating life's changes or seeking financial assistance, we're ready to give you a helping hand.

We're Glad You're Here

Whether you've just moved to the area and are looking for a new spiritual home or you have been here for a while and just discovered St. Mel Parish, we look forward to meeting you!

Strengthening the Building Blocks of Society

The family is a vital element in the makeup of society, yet it is under attack on many fronts. We are a refuge and a field hospital for the family to recover and become stronger to stand firm against all the forces that come to break it down

Forging Men of Virtue

We offer opportunities and community for men to become the sons, brothers, and fathers God created us to be.

Building Up Women of Grace

Using our Blessed Mother as a model, we empower women to live lives filled with grace to nurture those around them, bolster hope in the midst of trials and inspire the virtue of magnanimity.

Setting Our Sights on Heaven

The early years in the lifelong journey of discipleship are a pivotal period in one's life. Our Faith Formation Team is eager to accompany you and your children as they set out on this journey.

What is this journey in between the event we call 'birth' and the one we call 'death'? Is the journey taking you somewhere, or are you leading yourself to some kind of destination – a destination that could extend beyond your last breath? What do you want from your life during the in between? The questions are there. And the answers are too.

Join us Thursdays in October and November from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. (Potluck dinner from 6:30—7:00, short film from 7:00—7:30, discussion from 7:30—8:15) All Are Welcome!

Contemplative Prayer

Mondays at 7:00 p.m. Contemplative prayer, the oldest expression of prayer, is a path toward the order, balance, and harmony God intended.

Mass with Anointing of the Sick

St. Mel celebrates Mass with the Anointing of the Sick at the 5:30 p.m. Mass on the first Friday of each month.

At these Masses, we will offer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Anyone who is ill, elderly, preparing to undergo a medical procedure, or seeking the gift of God’s healing is welcome to participate. The parish community is invited to join in prayer for those who are sick and for their caregivers.

Stephen Ministry provides one-to-one care for parishioners going through a crisis or difficult time in life. Trained Stephen Ministers meet with that person on an ongoing basis, offering distinctively Catholic care and support.

St. Mel Stephen Ministers are parishioners who have spent fifty hours in study and training to become spiritual caregivers.

If you find yourself in need of encouragement or companionship due to a personal loss or significant change in your life, we want you to know that you are loved. You are cared for. And your parish is prepared to respond to your need.

For more information, contact Deacon Brian Conroy: (818) 340-6020, ext. 1018 BConroy@stmel.org
